Henry S. Miller and CMC advance to Triple Crown of Polo Finals on ESPN2

Dallas, Texas, June 24, 2006 -- Las Colinas Polo Club – It came down to the last two games on Friday, June 23, to determine who would go to the finals in the Dallas leg of the Triple Crown of Polo on ESPN2. In the 1st game perennial powerhouse CMC defeated Intergame 12-9 in an exciting match between a newly energized Intergame team sponsored by 1-goal patron, Alex Gleeson. Gleeson's Intergame team kept the match tied until late in the 5th chukker when Rob Payne scored twice on passes from 6-goaler Frankie Bilbao and put CMC up by two. CMC had to win by two goals in order to make the finals and in the 6th chukker Bilbao scored again to secure the victory. The 2nd game pitted rivals Henry S. Miller and Mokarow Farms against each other to determine if HSM would make the finals. Henry S. Miller won 10-6 but the game was tied at 5-5 until the 4th chukker when Henry S. Miller 2-goal superstar, Will Tankard, scored twice on passes from teammates Pelon Escapite and Brent Mirkitani. Then in the 5th and 6th chukkers Escapite and Mirikitani put the game out of reach for Mokarow with 2 unanswered goals. The finals will be played Sunday, June 25, at 5:00 pm at Las Colinas Polo Club on Capital One Championship field and televised on ESPN2 later this year.  See the teams and results.

The Triple Crown of Polo festivities continue Saturday nite, June 24, at Prestonwood Country Club in Dallas, with the "Black and White Ball" benefiting the Polo Training Foundation. Honorary Chairman Jesse Pruitt and event Chairmen Vaughn and Dena Miller, have raised over $16,000 for the PTF with the sold out event and expect over 200 attendees. The spectacular Tiffany’s Triple Crown of Polo trophy will be on display at the ball, under guard, and there will be a silent auction and seated dinner with live music and dancing. The 3rd and final leg of the Triple Crown of Polo moves to the Santa Barbara Polo Club in California in August.
