opened Saturday Saturday September 4 at Prestonwood Polo Club and as
always, Prestonwood has some exciting events

2010 Fall polo season at Prestonwood truly Rocks!
September is casual, Ladies Polo Auxiliary welcome you
back with a Kick off Reception of wine and munchies in
the grand pavilion. Tailgate, grandstand boxes are open
as is pavilion, first come. Bounce house for kids and
leashed dogs are welcome, bring the family and enjoy!
$10 a car, reserve a grandstand box for 24 with a table
for your BYOB/Picnic and a professional polo player will
give you the “Intro to Polo” 30 minutes before game time
for $250.
October is full of awesome special events:
Oct. 2nd is our version of the TX/OU rivalry Red River
Shoot Out-Polo Style!
Show your spirit and win prizes for most Spirited
Tailgate and Most Spirited Box!
Oct. 7th is our WCT kick off party-Denim and Diamonds
Gala at Prestonwood Country Club Hills 6600 Columbine
Way, Plano. Dinner, fashion show featuring Project
Runways season 6 winner, Shirin Askari and Calcutta.
Meet and bid on teams from 6 different countries! Winner
splits the pot with the house! $75 person, $100 after
Sept. 25.
Women’s Championship games begin Friday and finals are
Saturday Oct. 9th with a Veuve Clicquot Celebration for
players and sponsors in the grand pavilion. Join the
teams -$25.
Oct 10- Men VS. Women “Battle of the Sexes Challenge”
Oct. 16. (rain date Oct. 23)“Horsepower Under Hood and
Saddle”
Great American Wheels & Wings, Paws In The City, Paws
'n' Wheels and other animal rescue/welfare organizations
Horsepower Under The Hood & Saddle, a regional car show
event with antique, classic, custom, exotic, luxury,
rare, restored and stock automobiles with a world class
polo match afterward. Other activities. Vendors
available including food/drinks. To raise awareness and
much needed funds to help with abandoned, abused,
dumped, neglected, stray, surrendered and tortured
animals.

Car show - 10AM to 3PM; Polo match - 4PM to 7PM

General admission tickets will be for sale at the gate
on the day of the event or at various Paws In The
City/Great American Wheels & Wings events. General
admission is $10 per person or $20 per carload.
PawsInTheCity.org online car show pre-entry is $25 or
$35 at the gate on the day of the event. There are no
online sales of general admission tickets.
Oct. 30- 6th annual Polo on the Midway presented by
Wells Fargo Advisors benefiting Denton County Children’s
Advocacy Pony rides, petting zoo, games and more! VIP
tickets include dinner compliments of Raphael’s, and
libations in the grand pavilion. General admission is
$20 a car.
Nov. 6 SMU Equestrian Team fundraiser-$100-dinner,
libations and polo!
Nov. 7th ‘Polo and Petanque-A French Day!
Nov. 13-End of season Polo and Awards.

launched our first ever
Prestonwood Polo magazine inside
the 380 Guide; our meet
the players at the pre-season party was at Markham
Jewelers and our season kicks off Saturday April 24 with
an SMU mixer, followed by the 9th annual Polo on the
Lawn benefiting the Family
Place on May 1. There will be
a Ladies Polo Auxiliary Wine and Chocolates reception
May 5th and Polo for the
Planet on June 5, the
Patriot Cup is July 3 and our season finale is July 10.
We will also be adding a French Polo
Day
with “Polo and Petanque”, so be prepared to wear your
beret!

Polo lessons at Prestonwood
are ongoing and our Jr. polo
players are ready to show us what they’ve learned. Look
for upcoming Interscholastic games being scheduled.
